I am living proof…

…that not being afraid to seize an opportunity can completely change your life.

After spending more years at University than I care to count, my husband of 25+years and I settled down in southwest Florida in the States and enjoyed a great “lifestyle” for many years. One day it dawned on us that, while our life looked great from the outside, we weren’t happy.  In a move that seemed unthinkable to some, my husband, daughter and I moved halfway around the world to begin the next stage of our lives together in New Zealand.  It has truly allowed us to bring balance back to our lives and is one of the best things we have done as a family.

Why I share that with you is because, in my work I attempt to impress upon my clients and those who have heard me speak that they should not be afraid to step out of their “comfort zones” and try something new or different in order to get a better result. I am happy to report that, often, the message gets through.

Everyone has a natural tendency to see the world through a certain ‘lens’.  Once we know and understand how we ourselves communicate, we can learn how to apply DISC principles to help us identify the natural communication tendencies of others and improve the effectiveness of our communication.
